Some past Info

This is a little in the past, but I wanted to at least archive Ethan's birth in this as I plan to print and make a memory book from it.

After about 4 weeks of bedrest for Preeclampsia I was admitted to the hospital on July 23rd, a Monday. I was 32 weeks pregnant. After a few scares and some extensive ultrasounds it was predicted that Friday that the baby was in distress and we'd be lucky if he would be 3 1/2 pounds. We were very scared by this prospect and so many a priesthood blessing and prayer were given those next few days. On Sunday, July 29th, things took a turn for the worst and my blood pressure would not come done and other symptoms (such as a monstrous headache) presented themselves, so the decision was made to deliver. I was 2 days over 33 weeks pregnant, and scared. Having had the other two children early (34 and 33 weeks on the dot) I sort of knew the ropes, but ultrasounds had shown more distress in this case and that was scary to me. It was a relaxed C-Section as an emergency situation never presented itself and he was born at 6pm. This was the first time I hadn't had an emergency c-section and I was grateful for that experience.

We didn't know the gender yet, which did make the delivery exciting that way. The staff was wonderful and had a lot of fun with it and when they announced it's a boy, tears started to flow. Then, he started to cry. Now, Connie didn't cry when she was born and gave us a big scare. Kyler cried at first and then stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated. Ethan cried and cried and cried. The more he cried the more I cried. Big tears of Joy! Then they announced his weight...4 pounds on the nose. I cried such tears of joy. I know you'd never think you'd be that happy over 4 pounds, but he's my biggest baby thus far and they were predicting 3 1/2 if I was lucky. He did great!!

A little less that 2 weeks later and we were home from the hospital with our VERY healthy preemie. He left the hospital weighing it at 4 lbs and 3 ounces. About 2 weeks later he weighed in at the doctor's office at 6 lbs and 5 ounces. At six months he weighed in at 15 lbs and 13 ounces and we have never been happier for a preemie's development. He doesn't even look like a preemie now.

As for me, I have some permanent damage from the occasion, but all worth it. He is beautiful and a wonderful finish to my baby making career. My cardiologist has strongly suggested no more pregnancies as my heart is showing the damage, and I'm taking that advice. We'll adopt someday, but for now we couldn't be happier with our three beautiful, miracle children!

Emma's Leaving! :(

Well, I thought I would post a few little pictures of Emma so you could see how very sad I'm going to be next week. Mom is wanting to spend a little more time with her, so they are going to stop needing me at the end of March. I'm very sad. She is so cute and very easy!

Babysitting Fun

Well, for a few weeks I had more babies that usual. I watched a little boy for a friend in my Ward and then I always watch Miss Emma Cseke. They are just growing so fast and I'm loving it. I do lose all of them in the next couple of weeks though as moms have decided they want to spend more time with their babies. I don't know why! :) Seriously though, I'm very sad. As you can see they are very cute and we have so much fun. I like to practice a little sign with them during the day and we always have some playing on the floor time, which usually turns into sitting and letting Miss Sarah take my picture time. What can I say, they are adorable. Jason is doing well, they same old stuff. He did Merit Badge University here not long ago teaching Aviation Merit Badge. He obviously had lots of fun doing that. He was well liked. So much so, that they parents got him a calendar and one of the boys drew him some good drawings of aircraft. It was very confidence boosting for him. I've been telling him for 8 years he was a wonderful man, but it feels good to have it affirmed by other (less biased) people. Connie is doing great as well. She just recently got a 10/10 on her spelling test. Believe me this is a BIG deal. She struggles with all things verbal and that includes spelling. As a result she earned a special date with Daddy and they went bowling. They really enjoyed themselves. We encourage her to read a lot. So, we have her read to Ethan when he needs attention and Mommy is cooking. Kyler is Kyler. He is doing great in school education-wise. He still struggles a bit on the social aspect, but is getting better. He does actually have friends now! We're excited about that. Ethan is growing so fast I don't even know what to put about him. He is sitting up on his own now, and trying out the crawling thing. He has figured out how to lay on his back and scoot backwards with his feet. He has also figured out how to roll where he wants to go. I'm not excited for the crawling stage as he is already into EVERYTHING! He's cute though, so I don't stay mad long. Maybe 1/2 a second. He eats almost all baby food now and only take a bottle once maybe twice a day for a meal. He's just so big and I'm sad as he's my last and I didn't have much baby-snuggly time. Now he thinks he need to run with the big kids. It won't be long! :(
